In September 2024, Yunona had the honor of premiering the role of Lady Giovanna in an original one act opera The Falcon by Robert Rogler (based on the play by Lord Tennyson).
A performance of a new opera, The Falcon, written by composer Robert Rogler, with alibretto from poet Alfred, Lord Tennyson, and produced by The Rogler Collection, will take place in a private, salon concert on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at 7:00 pm and will be followed by a short reception. The opera takes the audience on a roller coaster of emotions, exploring love and devotion, humor and whimsy, honor and sacrifice. Performed by some of the most talented young musicians in the Boston area, it stars the bass singer Lance Bernard Bryant as Count Federigo, soprano Yunona Tabala as Lady Giovanna, mezzo-soprano Eliza Howells as Elisabetta, and tenor Thai Johnson as Filippo. Accompanying theopera with a piano reduction of the score will be renowned pianist Matt Savage The story takes place in one afternoon when the Lady Giovanna visits Count Federigo in his cottage and entreats him with a desperate and delicate request that changes their lives forever. Described by Estonian Classical Radio music critic Pritt Kuusk as "simply beautiful music" Robert Rogler's compositions have afresh and warm sound, which sets him apart as one of the most recognizable contemporary American composers.
